Disc brake rubbing....

Hi
I'm a bit of a n00b to the mtb world and I know the square root of **** all about bike maintenance so bear with me if this is a stupid question
I've had my new bike around 2 months and I've just noticed that both the front and back rotors intermittently rub against the brake pads. This appears to be happening at the same point in the revolution for each of the front and back rotors which, to my untrained eye, seems to point to either an alignment problem or the rotors having got bent somehow (not sure how they could have got bent as I treat the bike very well and I haven't fallen off it yet).
What I really need to know is how I would go about diagnosing and fixing the problem.
Thanks in advance for the help
