Does anyone use these for just road biking, or are they mainly for triathletes (and pro TT)? I have seen a few around on wiggle, CRC etc and wondered what peoples opinions were on them? They seem to be a little more comfortable maybe than a 2 peice given the reduction in seams, but more inconvenient for calls of nature etc. I fancies trying one out, but didn;t really want to splash out on an assos version without knowing how I liked them so if anyone has any pointers to cheaper versions that'd be good too!

Not that practical for longer than TT distances though, or for UK winters. No pockets you see.0

+1 not very practical and I wouldn't say they're more comfortable than a good jersey & shorts, but if you must - Giordana do a cheaper one that should be very good. It's based on their excellent Tenax shorts.

No pictures on the ad, but if you look up the shorts and the jersey in the same ranges you'll get the idea.0 -
I have a club one I've use in time trials and I occassionally use one with a jersey over it if I run out of bib shorts. They are also useful in short races such as crits or cross where you aren't carrying any food.0

My 4 year old gets extremely excited when I put it on!... Thinks I'm a super hero
Wants me to wear it when we go out on our bikes!!! :oops:Start with a budget, finish with a mortgage!0 -

Just don't have bib shorts, I had some £10 "cycling shorts" from Tebo, that german based coffee shop that have a shop in one corner,
had them for a season of TT's and now have my jersey over my skinsuit(which i got at the end of the season, . )
if you want to carry stuff then put them into a seconded bottle or saddlebag

I TT in an Assos skinsuit. Wouldn't want to use it for general riding. While fantastic for its intended purpose it'd be very uncomfortable for general riding as it's got a very extreme preshape to it making it very tight down the front when not in a TT position. I'd go for a traditional jersey and bib setup for general riding - jersey rear pockets are handy too.

Thanks for the opinions guys, I don't think I'll bother for now, but when I finally get in enough shape to properly TT then I'll take the plunge.0
