Hi,
I am considering selling a bike on-line and haven't done this before.
Any advice on things I should do \ shouldn't do?
Thanks in advance.
Rich.

good pics, highlight any damage, money before posting, post it, box it well.0

I was assuming most people would want to ride or at least see a bike before buying - is this not the case in your experience?0

Then sell as pickup only and state sold as seen!0

I've sold a couple of bikes on fleabay. I would always have them pick it up, that way no comebacks for "damage" As said high res pics showing and explaining all faults. Good luck.0

Thanks Skinson - that's useful advice.
Did you ever get any requests for test rides? If so, how did you deal with ensuring your money didn't just ride off in to the distance??0 -

On ebay I thinks its a given that you don't try before you buy. Be careful as you may get someone who wins the auction, then comes round doesn't like it - you don't get a sale - but have to pay the ebay fee (a % of the winning bid)
I always say 'you are bidding to buy - not to view' - you can specify local pickup - but this does seem to limit your market - and therefore your final price.
Be brave and put a low starting price on - I started a bike at 99p - it sold for £85 - a week earlier some one else started the same bike at £55 - don't think it sold.
make sure your auction ends a good time - mid evening on sat or sun is best0 -
I've sold lots on Ebay (over 1000 feedback) and have never had any major issues.
If you want to be sure of getting your money make them pay via paypal before you give out your address.
Offer postage only via trackable methods like parcel force and list the insurance amount as standard parcelforce 48 hour is only about £150, if they don't take it its their loss not yours.
Not worry about low starting prices, I've started stuff at 99p and sold for £300+.
Good description is the key and list everything in as much detail as you can.
Good luck0 -
Thanks for the advice everyone - much appreciated.0
