With my derraileur I can opt for a road cassette and was wondering why DH'ers would use one?
Road cassettes seem closer spaced than MTB ones so wouln't it just cause more shifting?
Or you'd end up spinning out too easily?

DH racers go one speed and that is flatout down hill. They would never use a 34t sprocket even if they had one. So they tend to do one of two thing. One is get rid of the cassette cogs they don't use and only use say 5 or so gears to save weight. The other is to fit a road cassette and they have a wider spread of usable gears to pick from.0

it depends on what ratios you want."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
