Anyone else watching this?
1st episode was ok, just setting the scene, introducing the characters and all that junk.
I'll be interested to see how it develops though.

yeh just watched the following second episode too and it looks like it could have legs. I'll trust Carlisle's integrity / judgement as an actor to not appear in sh!t just for a big chunk of gold change0

I'm holding judgement as I can see some potential. It does look as if the creators have been watching the new version Battlestar Galactica boxsets non-stop for a few months though. The stargate formula was needing a shake up though so we'll see.Formally known as Coatbridgeguy0

Its certainly OK. Which is a big boost from the standard Stargate drivel. Carlyle is the guy holding the entire show together right now, the kid is annoying and the colonel is boring.
But yeah it does seem like the writers just got the BSG, Voyager and Lost boxsets and just mixed it all in a big jug. Carlyle being the new Baltar.0 -

Was thinking this exact same thing myself. But I enjoyed Battlestar anyway so it's all good in the hood0 -

I agree. Galactica showed that sci-fi can be serious tv and the producers have clearly tried to make this new series a bit edgier, but alarm bells started ringing when they called the ship 'Destiny' and when the ship stopped at the first world that suited their needs.
So I suppose this is how the series is going to develop - the ship dropping out of FTL once a week and leaving the crew just enough time to investigate the planet before beaming back aboard in time for 'Road Wars'.
PS - does anyone know where the hell in Scotland Bobby Carlyle's accent is supposed to be from?! It's almost as weird as Doctor Carson Beckett's in Stargate Atlantis.0 -

I'll bet there was some discussion even getting that accent into the character, wouldn't surprise me if that was written into his contract and a compromise reached. They have to subtitle real Scottish accents for yank audiences, they simply just don't make it out.0 -
I believe in the next episode he claims that he grew up in Glasgow where his father was a shipyard worker.
Good luck trying to find one of those!0
