Hi, my Hope Mono on the front takes a while to really stop so that the lever is practiacally touching the bars. Is there any way of adjusting this apart from a complete bleed?
Thanks

  • another trick i find usefull on brakes with the spanner bolt bleed port on the calliper is to leave the lever bleed port closed, open the caliper port and squeeze in a little more fluid. this pushes the pistons towars the rotor a bit and so the brakes bite a bit earlier. just watch the hose doesnt come loose and piss fluid all over your shoes!

Untill it comes to fit new pads and you cant get the pistons fully home.

Just lever the lever pulled back over night and the seals will advance the pistons to a closer position.

  • just level the lever pulled back overnight? as in, elastic band the level closed overnight and itll move the pistons in? interesting, never heard that one. obviously my way you need to re-bleed/remove some fluid on the brake when you fit new pads.

by the way Nicklouse, with the right hose adaptors can you bleed all brakes using the avid syringes? with the way you bleed the caliper, hose then lever? as it makes a much more thorough bleed then anything else ive done, and my shimano's need some bleeding.

I'm guessing this can be applied to any hydraulic brakes?
