Remove cassete using lockring tool and chain whip, fit spacer kit and LIGHTLY do it up,

remove rear mech, then cut chain and fit it as tight as possible around the two rings.

Check chainline, if out adjust spacers on sprocket (hence fit it loosely!)

    fit tensioner

    ???????

  • ok thanks alot but how does the chain delinker work is it dificult?
  • i did my dbr a few months back. all i did was remove the big and the small chainrings, remove the front and rear mechs (cutting the cables to stop temptation to go back to geared!), removed the cassette and decided which cog to use - 13 tooth is about right. buy a conversion kit. take your time playing around with the spacers and the cog otherwise you'll snap your chain on your first ride (like i did!!!). once you have the perfect chainline, tighten everything up and fit a chain tensioner, i used a dmr tensionseeker as it is adustable and is very quiet.
you'll notice how light your bike is and how easy it is to put the power down, also the first thing you will do is go to change gear!! dont worry you'll get used to it!!
