Womens bibs vs shorts

Hello,

I'm a road cyclist of many years, but I have finally got my wife into the sport - so no more nagging that I'm "always out on the bike" :-)

She's been wearing a standard pare of shorts, but has found them somewhat uncomfortable around the tummy area (something I have never experianced). I suggested some bib shorts, which look like the way forward, but not being an expert on womens cloting, can't quite work out the getting dressed sequence!

So...is it bra then base layer then bib, or does the base go over the bib....looks like it could get all quite uncomfortable to me with bib straps making base layers "ruck up".

We also saw some all-in-one type bibs on wigge (dhb finchdean) but they don't have any in her size (she's a size 10, 32b).

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

Rob

according to the Assos catalogue it's bibshorts first, then some soft lighting, a wind machine and a provocative pose.

My partner goes bra, base layer and then shorts/tights. She uses Assos half-shorts as the pad is v.comfortable and there is no elastic at the front so no pressure. However, she did get some Castelli Truly-Free bib shorts and like the Assos, no pressure at the front, but the bib straps are cut more to the side to avoid the breasts. Assos of course use a central fastening

As a 'lady' I prefer the look of the DHB Finchdean - no annoying narrow straps to annoy your, erm, best assets! I suspect you could also wear them without a base layer in the summer. As for the base layer riding up, I suspect that could be a problem with any bib shorts, but haven't yet tried any. When I get down to a 16  I plan to buy the Finchdean :D . They just look more comfortable than any others.

I obviously don't wear a bra... Prefer my pec's to feel free! Ahem...
But, I do wear bibs with a base layer and I've not suffered from any rucking up.
IMHO bibs are the way to go...
