probably not - certainly not worth a loan.
you can always upgrade the 4.7 next year when cash becomes available.0 -
What year you looking at?
Last time I was in Evans in Waterloo they were doing the 5.2 2009 in both fits for £1999.0 -
Different frame i thought? Is n't the 5.2 better carbon or something, i dunno.................winter beast: http://i497.photobucket.com/albums/rr34 ... uff016.jpg

the difference is the 4.7 has a lower end carbon frame but is full Ultegra. The 5.2 is the OCLV carbon frame the pros use but the groupset is I think the 105 so you are taking a step back there.
I have the 4.7 and love it0 -

maybe the 10 models are a different from the 09 ones then, in that case it just depends on whether you want to pay extra for the upgrade on the carbon frame0

I've had the 4.7 for over a year and am really pleased with. Was in a similar position to you apart from i'd already stretched to the 4.7 but liked the look of the 5.2. I got the 4.7 and saved again for DA wheels, keo sprint pedals and selle italia saddle. I would have needed to upgrade these on a 5.2 aswell but prob couldn't have afforded to. Saying that, if youv'e got your heart set on a 5.2, buy it. You'll only regret it otherwise.0

No bikes worth getting a loan for my friend. The 4.7 is a lovely bike. Simple as that.0

It is. If you buy the 4.7 you'll just spend all the time you own it wondering if you should have gone for the 5.2, so you may as well do it. You'd have spent the money anyway, maybe on lager, CDs, platform shoes, flared slacks, stuff like that. Spend it on something that will continue to give you enormous leisure for a long period of time. As long as you can sensibly afford it. Loans from a reputable source aren't always bad. Don't do it on your credit card though.0 -
thanks for your replies . me thinks best thing is to keep my current bike and ride it through the winter , then next april time get a 5.2 , when i should have he money . and there may be more discounts0

I'm not against getting loans in general! I've got a huge mortgage and a car finance loan to prove that. I just don't think it's worth putting yourself in debt for a tincy bit more performance.
You don't need a loan to buy lager or platform shoes.
Personally I want a new bike now, I can't quite afford the one I want but I can get through winter with the one I got! So may as well save it and buy the right bike when you can afford it.
Theres always gonna be a better bike out there. If I had a 2 grand bike, I'd want a 3 grand bike and so on. So should I take out the loan to get the 3 grand bike? No, because what about the 4 grand bike?
Just my opinion though.0
