Carrera fork question

As THIS is a bit of a bargain from halfords with the extra 20% off, and it comes with cable disc brakes on MTB wheels with decent enuff gearing, especially for £160.
I was thinking for the wife, she's not interested in full on trail riding, just fire roads and maybe some gentle woodland tracks. Would it take that kind of riding, the frame looks chunky enough as do the wheels. I could always sling on a set of more suitable tyres.
Would I be able to fit a suspension for to it if the need arose?

Yes."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Sounds like it would do the job, you could fit a short travel fork to it if you wanted tohttp://www.pinkbike.com/photo/1994177/
