My Polar Pro Trainer has finally died.
Looking to replace it with a HRM which has cadence + usual speed/time related functions. What would you guys recommend? Would also be good if it measured amount of climbing and data download features.
Cheers

How much are you thinking about spending?0

Just picked up a Garmin Edge 305 and it's the best piece of kit I ever bought.
It can do HR (and related zones/alarms etc.), cadence, speed, elevation, grade, total ascent, records GPS tracks and uploads data to a variety of programs.
I picked mine up new for £160 but I think I was lucky. You will probably be looking at about £200 for one with HR and cadence.0 -

About £200 max.
If I can get away with spending less, all the better!! The Garmin 305 does look very nice, I have also been looking at this http://www.heartratemonitor.co.uk/polar_cs400.html
or this http://www.heartratemonitor.co.uk/polar_cs600_cyclists_hrm.html0 -
I looked at both those models before deciding on the Garmin.
The cost worked out about the same on RRP (I decided on the Edge before I found the deal) when including cadence sensors but the Edge came with GPS at that price.
I also preferred the screen on the Garmin and had read better reviews than either Polar. The CS600 can do power (at an extra £170) but this puts the cost way up and I also heard the Polar power unit wasnt very good. At £200, the power function won't come into play anyway.0 -
Any decent deals about on the 305?0

I've got a Garmin 205 which is great as a GPS, but I'm not so keen on the 'bike computer' side of it. The software is really poor.
For a computer I use a Polar watch S725X, which I find much better.
If I was buying again now, I'd probably go for Polar CS400 or CS600.0 -

Does this or any other Garmin HRM use bluetooth from the chest strap to the head unit ?
