ok so i dont want to be committing any cycling faux pas - do i use a camelbak or a bottle when i'm out on the cross bike doing a mix road and off road

i'm thinking of the camelbak as i'm not keen on the bottles getting muddy... but then again having a sweat free back is nice....or maybe the camelbak again as it might be easier shouldering the bike on technical bits without a bottle and cage!

Whatever you find best. It is your bike, your back and your ride.
  • I use bottles on my road bike , but if I'm going far I use my camelback to carry tools, pump & gilet etc as its nice and streamlined ( I don't really use it for liquids as I find it too much of a faff )

If you need to shoulder the bike, climb over a fence or stile, then a bottle cage will get in the way. Die-hard cross bikes don't have bottle cage bosses either
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
