I've had one for 2 years and am very happy with it. Value for money was my number one criteria when I bought it as i was just getting back into cycling at the time, and didn't want to splash out on carbon frame etc as I didn't know how long the cycling bug would last this time around... The bike has been a joy to ride - so much so that I'm more into my cycling than ever before. I'm toying with the idea of upgrading, but I'm still enjoying the Varaido so much that I'm struggling to justify it.
At the time, mine came with Ultegra as standard, so it was no surprise to find that there was a compromise elsewhere in the spec for the price - this turned out to be the wheels, which were Fulcram 7's. I upgraded these about a month ago. The difference was amazing, and made a good bike feel even better (further delyaing any plans I had for a frame upgrade....)
One thing to point out is that there is toe overlap (at least on my 54cm frame) - many bikes have this, it's not necessarily a bad thing, but if you don't want it then best you know before ordering.0 -

I'm sure there are other bikes well worthy of consideration but I reckon it's a really good bike. I have last years model, last years bike is slightly better than this years, Ultegra vs 105, RS20 vs RS10. Apart from these differences there is little between them. When I first bought my Focus I just thought of it as a mail order down market beginners bike, it is the brand 'Focus' it doesn't have quite the brand power of Colnago or Pinarello but I have come to love it as a bike and as a brand.
The frame is light and strong and sits you in more of a race rather than sportive type positioning with it's 150mm headtube on the large model. Thats not to say you cannot alter the stem to make it more sportive if that's your thing. The headtube is setup with 40mm of spacers which puts you in a low sportive position. Remove the spacers and you go lowww. Set up as more or less standard I have ridden over 2000 miles on it since I bought it last year with rides of 100 miles with no problems besides the months it took my newbie neck to get used to the position, all is fine now. You do feel the road and it can be jarring at times but it's something I have gotten used to.
Great bike well worth your money. I'm eyeing up a carbon Cayo Expert now I have come to love the Focus brand0
