Boardman Team Carbon Advice

I recently decided to take up cycling and after many hours reviewing which bike to buy I have decided on a Boardman Team Carbon. I have purchased a bike on ebay, it is 6 weeks old and has barely been used and comes with receipt and guarantee. Also included is a pair of Shimano M324 combination clip/clipless pedals. I have agreed on a price of £840. Does this sound a fair price? Also is there anything I should be checking on the bike upon collection?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Yep - Check the wheels pal. They are dodgy if you are on the 'large' side!chris0

Sounds like a bit much to me. £750 max. From experience I'd say that bikes drop 25-30% of their value as soon as they leave the shop. Is the guarantee/warranty transferable? What if the bike failed under warranty and they couldn't replace it so had to refund - would the refund go onto the other guys card?
Its amazing the number of bikes you see for sale that have only done 50 or so dry miles....More problems but still living....0 -
Yeah good point I never thought about the warranty transfer. Found out at work today about the cycle to work scheme aswell, which i was previously unaware of. I think it may be a better idea to buy a bike through the scheme. I've been looking on the JeJames website and like the look of the Bianchi Via Nerone 7 Alu Mirage compact

going to call in this week and get something ordered, don't have long to decide because the scheme closes on 11th Sept.0 -

I will offer to compensate the seller for readvertising and hope he is ok with doing so. If not looks like i will be sticking with the Boardman lol!0

Don't panick. I work in retail and it would be fairly unusual for a company to keep full card details on file. Also if you return the bike to your local branch then they'll surely offer warranty replacement before refund rather than just saying 'pass your card, full refund authorized'?winter beast: http://i497.photobucket.com/albums/rr34 ... uff016.jpg

Now i'm not sure which is best to do, might ring halfords tomorrow and see if they would honour the warranty. Will let you know what happens. Thanks for your help and advice.
Hi amaferanga, yes I do work at STH, over at the Northern.0
