Tires for the Winter Wet

So I've just bought a Specialized Allez 16 through the Ride to Work Scheme. It looks like a great bike and I'm excited about my first Road Bike.
However, the tires that came with it (Specialized Mondo Sports) look really quite slick. As in, no grip at all.
So - am I going to need to get some new tires for the winter wetness for my commute to work? If so, what would you recommend?

Bicycle tyres exert far too much pressure on the road to worry about aquaplaning off the road like cars and motorbikes do.
The less tread there is the more grip you have.
The slicker the better.Note: the above post is an opinion and not fact. It might be a lie.0 -

Well, Schwalbe Stelvio's DO grip ultra-wet roads better than Ultremo's. Also, don't pump the tyres up to max pressure if you're that worried about loss of surface grip.0
