RockShox MC3R Squeaking

My shock is squeaking a lot under rebound. It does it when pushiing down on the saddle and on each pedal stroke. It doesn't seem to lock very well either so I'm wondering whether it just needs a service or is it something more sinister?
Any thoughts?

    has it ever been serviced?

    could need some lube on the seals. Might need new bushes. might be... the seat post :wink:

    I bought the bike 2 years ago and have not had it serviced yet. Don't know about before I got it ( It's an 05 Trek EX8). I thought about the seat post and checked but that's fine. Lubed up as much as I could but there's no difference to the squeak. I should probably get it serviced but a bit short of cash at the mo.
