I have acquired a Ciocc frame with 105 brakes and quite tired blocks. The brakes work really badly with some nice 1990s Campag/Marvic rimmed wheels I have (M-42 rims???). Not good for London. Any suggestions for improving braking?
These old style 105 blocks don't have inserts. In desperation I bought some Aztecs from Evans, which had a very limited range. They are an improvement on what I had, but still not that good. Would these Koolstop inserts be a sueful upgrade on brand new Aztecs?

My brake blocks are odd, after a long ride I usually sand them down and clean the rims, sometimes even after doing that, well most times, the brake performance has being pretty naff, but the other day I went out and the performance was amazing, if I pushed as hard as I'd have normally done I'd have flew over the handlebars. Does the rim or brake pad have dodgy leyers or something?

Thanks for that one. These are a really handy improvement on my London commute.
