dude, you need to sort that out
I'm not emailing a file that big.
  • I have tried to:

Can't download ANYTHING to combat it

It's at root level, it has even blocked my defrag device(s)

I'm playing a tune on itunes, then some random shit comes up double loud.

This is the worse virus I have EVER had on a machine, I only have to wait 2 weeks then it's getting binned anyway, just wanted to make sure that I had the latest version of itunes so I can back all my songs up onto my ipod and transfer them to new PC no problemo.

Why, how big is itunes then?

Best bet is to use a CLEAN usb stick (or burn onto a cd/dvd) to download itunes along with antivirus etc from another computer. Then you can use that to try to clean up your old pc. Otherwise you risk copying the virus onto the new machine when you copy your music.

And if your machine is that borked, I wouldn't trust it to install i-tunes ccorrectly either.
    Sorry.

Actually, I'd go for the DVD or CD, that way when you put it in the infected PC, you wont be infecting a perfectly good USB stick!

    you dont need itunes.

just copy the music files that are in the itunes folder

One thing to be careful of, Nick, seeing as how his puter is like a petri dish for viruses, is that any malware on his system might try and duplicate itself to the DVD, or hard disk or whatever he uses to copy his music across.
At least by syncing via i-tunes, it gives an extra ayer of protection.

Cheesey like I said in the other thread - is there no way you can get to a different machine with internet access? All you need do is download ubcd4win and burn the iso to disk, spin it up and it's got all the tools you need for you to patch things temporarily.

I've stretched a durex over my router, just sharing the same internets as you could prove dangerous
