haha i knew i'd get that response!!
anyway going off topic a bit sonic, i did the jacobs ladder loop on saturday and another cracker around ladybower on sunday. both awesome0 -
Have used a cheap one (Roughly £8) which did the job but would go for a more expensive one or hack saw next time.0

Yeah, have to be careful with some pipecutters.
Up or down Jacobs?!0 -
well it was a long arduos rocky climb then down to the stream and bridge, so dunno if you class it as up or down, either way it was great0

that and i used a grinder to get a nice finish, but i have a light touch.......Giant Trance X0 (08) Reverb, Hope Hoops 5.1D, XT brakes, RQ BC, Works Components headset 1.50 -
go to a plumbers merchant and preferably have the tube in question with you.
they would probably do it for you.
my dad was a plumber so i'm lucky i have all sizes0 -
Hacksaw with fresh blade.
I used a clamp off our kids trampoline as a guide, used an off-cut of lino between the clamp and the steerer tube so it didn;t mark the steerer tube. This helped as a guide for the hacksaw and I got a beautiful straight, clean cut.0 -
I tried to use my plumbing pipe cutters for my Tora steerer, never taken so long to cut a pipe in my life! Ended up getting the hack saw out after at least 10mins twisting that bugger!
Can't beat a hacksaw!0
