Specialized Rockhopper Expert Disc 09 vs. Trek 6700 09

Hi,
I am about to purchase a new MTB after several years out of the saddle. The Specialized Rockhopper Expert seems a safe bet, but wondering whether it's worth stretching an extra £150 for the Trek 6700 (of which I prefer the look). Having been out of the game for a long time, I'm finding it hard to comp the bikes ito spec to determine whether it's worth the extra cash. Have searched the bet and finding it difficult to get independent reviews of either bike.
Would be most grateful for any advice.

Have you tried either bike out?
A test ride may help answer your question about which is best for you, you may love one of the bikes feel & hate the other one.
