Which forks & grips to buy?

I've got a Kona Lana'i which i'm thinking of changing the forks and adding some new grips.
I really don't know much about which ones I need apart from wanting some that will lockout. The bike has got V brakes , will this make any difference?
I'll be picking some up from ebay probably along with some new grips, is there a make of grips which stands out above the rest? I'll use the bike for cycle lanes and maybe the odd light off road ride.
Any help much appreciated

You will need a fork with mounts for the V brakes. Also make sure the steerer is of the correct type and dimensions.0

Cheers, the fork travel is 63mm , will I be able to swap them for 80mm travel without ruining the ride? Would these do the job - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MEWAX:IT
When you say types of steerer, what types are there?0 -

The Lanai comes with Suntours fitted doesn't it?0 -
Cheers guys,
Yes it has got Suntours but they are 63mm without lockout and they make a wheezy sound when compressed!
My budget is small, i'm not after anything special just some that will lockout , not wheeze and smarten up the front a little.
Thanks for your help so far anyway0
