Avid Ultimate 7 hose replacement

I have a set of Avid Ultimate 7s on my bike. The hose outer got a bit damaged in a recent spill, so thought I would replace it since I need to bleed the brakes anyway.

I see that Avid kits with all of the bits are about £30. What is the advantage of this (as opposed to a £5 bog standard Hope or Goodridge hose). I don't need the extra bits since my current brake hose with connectors etc is still in place.

Thoughts?

Thanks

You can't really remove the banjo off your old hose and refit it to the new hose, and the little olive that goes in the reservoir end will need replacing also and the little bolt on the end of the hose(the one the olive butts up to)can be a pain to remove.
Hope banjos used to be a bit of a bodge on Avid brakes as Avids bleed screw is in the bolt that bolts the banjo to the calliper and Hopes isn't.

if you are replacing the hose you have a few options.

get a new avid hose with the required ends.

get a goodridge hose with the required ends.

and an avid bleed kit (which includes ends for the lever end x 2).

Thanks for the tips. Sounds like I need to get an Avid hose so I get the relevant bits. Struggling to find anything in stock for less that about £26. Ouch!

Maybe I'll see if I can get by with my existing hose a little longer. Sure it's only cosmetic damage to the outer!
