Looking for some input: as part of my divorce financial settlement, my stbx wife and her solicitor want to know the value of my used Wilier Izoard carbon bike. Pathetic I know, but it's an 'asset' in their eyes.

Cant really find an answer on the web, but I'd say about £500 in this climate...

what do you reckong

in this climate? are you joking? - about a tenner mate - and it would have to be immaculate to fetch that.

I recommend you sell it to a friend right now - tenner max - and give her a fiver for it.

If your mate decides he doesn't like it down the road then, well maybe you will be able to do a deal with him.

(Print this thread off as evidence for your solicitors - I am sure you will get a list of similar values)

    best of luck.

£500 is far too much. Bikes lose a lot of value in one year. I would say less than £20 - may be £10 like gkerr4 was saying.

    Good luck with the settlement.

    In seriousness I would say between £700 - £1000

The go for over £2k now with the prices increases.

I agree totally. That is the lowest of the willier range, and as such has a very limited market. I'd stick my neck out and say it's worth between £10.00 and £20.00.

Hmm! Don't try to assist a friend in need then will you....£700.00 WTF. I'd sell it the pikeys before I'd give £350.. away in a setttlement

I agree, it's a pathetic request, but if the Courts need to know then I have to try and provide some evidence.

It's a joke when she's banging on about a £500 quid bike when I have liabilites of around £30k.....

Can't you think of something she owns that you can counter claim for and get her to drop her vindictive claim? e.g. shoes/jewellery etc. Obviously don't know what terms the divorce is under, but is there a way you've not thought of to keep her vile claws off your bike?

    500 seems reasonable.

They lose value in the short term, but this case proves once and for all that in the long term a good bike is a better investment than a good wife

If all else fails, find a shabby piece of cr*p that's gone for a few quid on ebay that has Wilier written on it and claim it's the nearest example of a second hand Izoard you can find. Courts won't be interested in Centaur vs Sora, or whether it's a carbon wrap seatpost. I take it your stbx wife is not an avid admirer of exotic bikes and won't be able to pick holes...
