Ok so after some comparision i've decided to go for the 09 Carrera Fury. similar component spec to the Boardman but have been advised that the Fury is a little more tougher? Better than the 08 Fury by a little and I prefer the white frame to the grey.
Before I put through me letter of collection should I be saving money for a cheaper alternative (Which one) or looking at a different bike for same cost (£549). I'm not going to be spending the full £1000 available, I want a bike that can do some good trails etc but there aren't many mountains in Essex so it won't see much hardcore stuff unless on special trips but still want it to hold it's own
Thanks for all the advice everyone (Although still keep thinking about that Vulcan 08 disc in red!)

The does have a longer fork - the 08 version gets the Tora 318 which is a fantastic piece of kit.0

Has anybody done any comparisons between the Tora 318 on the 08 and the Epicon on the new 09? It must be good for them to risk changing from the Tora, that was a major selling point on previous Furies.0
