Just went out for a ride and me left pedal felt funny checked and it has stripped the thread in the crank arm
Its got Truvativ Fived crank on there at the moment(not sure if they are any good) which has a square fit
can I buy just the left arm and fit that or am I better off buying a new crank set and if need be bottom bracket?
not sure on the sizes but left arm has 175 stamped in it along with a serial number(
5d5kbo) i think is the number
as always dont want to spend alot of money as skint at the moment
but want me bike back on road asap
cheers

You can get them - check ebay.
Might be simpler to get the whole chainset, and you'll have repalcement rings too.

Cheers for that supersonic
are these cranks any good, and is this normal for the threads to strip in the arms, I know it was not cross threaded or anything like thatSpecialized Camber Expert

They do if the pedal is loose and you ride on ;-)
Key is to tighten them up real tight.0 -
They were done up very tight and I always check them before I go outSpecialized Camber Expert

am I right in saying that the arms are 175mm ones
any other ideas as to maybe changing to a stronger/better crank and BB if needed?Specialized Camber Expert

It will say on the crank the measurement, or simply measure, axle to axle.0
-
ok looks like they are 175mm
anyone know what cranks will fit and would it be best to change the bbSpecialized Camber Expert

I think so - lighter and stiffer.
Make sure they face the frame first as the bearing system is different.0 -
yes that is what they said they will do they wiil do this remove my old one face frame fit new one and set gears etc up and lube chain for £75 not bad I think as cheapest I can find on net is £49 but then I have to pay for fitting etc to make sure its on right and as you say face frame, which they would charge £20 so not worth getting from netSpecialized Camber Expert

Tis a good deal. Ask them to check if the chain is worn too, as old chains on new chainrings eats them quick.0

The chain is a bit worn but I have a new chain already will need a new rear cassette so will get them to fit that as well which the said they will do for free so just have to decide on the rear cassette to get any ideasSpecialized Camber Expert
