I'm in Basingstoke and rode to Andover at the weekend, I am in Salisbury at least once a fortnight as my 4 year old lives there with his mum0

Working at Basingstoke today actually.

Hey Steve, I live just south of Salisbury, what bike have you got? I got a Felt Z90 last autumn and upgraded it to Tiagra but need to get out on it more instead of just looking at it's lovely shineyness....0

Fordingbridge here, probably a bit South of flybike.
Riding a nice shiny Van Nicholas Euros mainly for fitness 20 / 30 miles at weekends.
Perhaps we should start a "South of Salisbury club"He is not the messiah, he is a very naughty boy !!0 -
Haha, I live in Damerham, but am working in Fordingbridge.
V nice bike Topdude!
Having looked at the this thread recently which has had me in stitches:

It's not too bad, it's the and back that's the killer! I got my Bianchi a couple of weeks ago and wanted to see how much easier it was riding a road bike on the road, I used to do lots of 8 mile commutes until about 10 years ago, that was my little let's get back into this ride lol!
I was a little sore on Monday but well enough to go running Tuesday and swimming last night.
It's not winterthur you work at is it?0 -

Looks like there is some interest in the Salisbury / Bournemouth corridor.
Lets see if any others out there are up for an occasional ride
PS, flybike. i rode through Damerham on Sunday on a little spin out to Martin and it actually didn't rainHe is not the messiah, he is a very naughty boy !!0 -
Yep, def up for some company/ group rides, although always concerned that I don't want to hold anyone up
topdude, I am amazed you have managed a dry ride! Damerham hill is a killer tho (towards F'bridge!), if I bike to work it's the first thing my poor sleepy/not yet woken up body gets given, it's in shock by the time I get to work :roll:0 -
Im a beginner so wont be at le tour pace but prepared to do my bit to keep things moving at a reasonable rate, the weather is the biggest problem in trying to arrange anything at the moment though, I managed a ride up to Horton and back last night in the late evening sun, a a rare treat at the moment !!!0

Excellent rockhopper353 I'll draft you!0

Will be away this weekend but definitely interested in a group ride sometime, maybe next weekend weather permitting ? I can take you round the New Forest, 30 miles or so, easy-ish terrain. Or any other suggestions welcome
I'm off to Cornwall and just put bike in car so it's Cornish hills for me this weekendHe is not the messiah, he is a very naughty boy !!0 -

Where do you row that's near Salisbury? I've lived there for 14 years, 5 of which I've been rowing at Oxford and I've never found anywhere nearby to row.FTT

hey guys i live just north of salisbury can i join in your southerners club? i've only been road riding a few weeks. i currently do a 33 mile loop in about 2 hours. never ridden with anyone else so would be good to have someone to chat to and see if this drafting is all its cracked up to be! i should be free anytime over the next couple of weeks.0
-
Of course Punctureboy, if you live up to your name, the extra tubes that we carry might be helpful to you
Will post up here when I/we intend to come out and I'll have another bod to draft... Didn't manage to get out this weekend
I think I might be around your speed or a just a bit slower, last ride I averaged about 15mph, I've just started out too (more at home on the old MTB, but loving this new found speedy thing!).0 -
Hi, I live in Salisbury but ride from both Salisbury and Fordingbridge and everywhere in between! I meet with a group from fordingbridge fire station at 6.30 on a wednesday feel free to join in - usually ave. 17 -18 but in a group that is not hard - otherwise i ride on my own from Salisbury usually all around every other evening - always like a bit of company0
-
Hey Nadder, how far do you normally ride?0
-
Hi,
Varies anything from a 12 - 15 mile blast on my own up to 60 odd at the weekends - normally between 20 and 30!0 -
Well, reckon I'd be ok up to about 30 miles, over that :shock:0
-
distance is all in the mind! Have you and puncture boy been out yet?
When do you ride?0 -
No, not been out yet with other people! Am currently trying to find time to ride post work (about 6.30 onwards) or weekends, which can be more tricky to fit in if I am racing (rowing), but have my last races this weekend and end of Aug, after that it'll be mainly bike I hope!0
-
cool - well I normally ride in or around there so give me a shout if you fancy a ride or join us on a wednesday!

Excellent, will do, I'll PM you0
