Hi

Just started to have a play with the settings on my new st4 and wanted to check the sag.

It seems to be at 20mm of the 50mm+ long shock - now I think I remember reading that the orange system gives a 2:1 ratio so that would explain why it's a 100mm rear travel bike but in that case should the sag not be 10mm to give the normal 20%?

if it is a 100mm travel bike and a 50mm stroke shok then yes you need to add more air pressure to give the sag % that you want,.

    Thanks for reply.

I'm being a bit thick (1st full suss after riding HT for years) - but you mention the sag I want?

Dies the sag not "need" to be 10mm (20%) as I've read elsewhere then you fine tune with the rebound and propedal settings?

If not what is the plus/minus of running more/less sag?

you may want more or less depending on where you are riding

there are only a handfull (if that) of bike that say the sag has to be X or Y

the smoother the conditions the less sag you need. the rougher the more.

XC bikes tend to have anything from 0-25% figures for sag.
