Yellow van man - near miss

Hi all
Was out on my morning 20 mile run, when about 2 miles from home, a yellow van pulled out on me at the round about outside Rosewell (Midlothian).
I just managed to skid in front of his bonnet and to the rear of a large lorry, and then the cheeky twunt beeped his horn at me!
It was one of those situations where you are thinking ...oh s@@t hes not going to stop.
Anyway, safe at home drinking tea now, put it down to experience and appreciate the fact im not in hospital with tubes up my nose and a drip on my arm (and a Bianchi bent in two).
I assume the high way code now says give way to the right unless its a bike!

It's just one of the perils that have to be accepted sadly as it is always likely to happen when you go out during the working week with a lot of vehicles out there are driven by people with more important schedules than your well being on a bike.
There is nothing you can do about it apart from ride with caution all the time which nullifies enjoyment.0 -
Sorry to hear about your close call.0
