I feel the need for speed!!!! After selling my 2006 Madon 5.5 a few months back, (big mistake!), and spending a few months MTB'ing on a Focus Raven Extreme, I need to get back onto tarmac.
After my Madone, I really have the taste for quality componentry. So with this in mind, and after much hunting, I think I've narrowed my choice down to the BMC Racemaster SLX01, or the Focus Cayo pro.
Obviously the Focus is the better priced option, and gets me the full Dura-Ace that I was used to with my Madone, however, I was looking at the BMC in my LBS today, and I have got to say, it's a work of art. Some might think it looks a little to 'bling' but it just blew me away.
Now the BMC is a carbon/alu hybrid, and as I understand it, the front triangle is carbon, the rear triangle is aluminium, whereas the Focus is full carbon, (as was my Madone).
So, all I'm really hoping for here is some direct experiences aboard either of these 2 bikes.
Should also mention, I'm 6' 5" tall, and definately on the heavier side of things at the moment weight wise!!! but hopefully the right bike will help me sort that out Thanks.
