Screw Threads on Pedals

Good morning.

As you can tell by the subject of this, I've never done bike mechanics. I have a very good friend at the LBS that normally helps me. I think i'd be the laughing stock if i had to take my bike down for the pedals changing :oops:

Question please : which way are the screw threads on the crank - which way do you turn to get them off?

This is a sincere question.

    right pedal is a traditional thread, so turn anti-clockwise to undo. left pedal is a left-hand thread, so turn clockwise to undo..
