Choice of three?

I'm finally in a position to get a new road bike and have narrowed it down to a choice of three. Is anyone better than the other or will either be fine.
Any advice appreciated.
1, 2010 Specialized allez sport double £599
2, 2009 Trek 1.5 compact £674
3, 2009 Scott Speedster S40 (18 speed) £729
Thanks

I bought the Trek 1.5 triple a few months ago for my first road bike and i love it. Also tested the spesh at the same time but the change down from large to small cog on the crankset seemed a bit clunky to me. I think the new 1.5 has tiagra shifters now instead of the sora mine has. Some people prefere that but I don't find the sora shifters a problem as i rarely get down to the drops. Also think the new colour scheme is quite smart on the new 1.5 but not as good as my white and lime green speed demonBianchi. There are no alternatives only compromises!

ride them all and see which you like the best, if none of them jump out then keep looking!0

See which fit best and what sort of discount you can get. Decide what sort of chainset you'd like before looking at brands. Also try to buy local. Other than that, they are all sound choices.'Happiness serves hardly any other purpose than to make unhappiness possible' Marcel Proust.0

very similar spec - the Scott has full tiagra though whereas the others are a mix of sora and tiagra, but then it does cost a bit more.
No obvious winner but for me it would be spesh versus scott I think. If you went to £800 you could get a full-tiagra '10 Spesh Allez....Facts are meaningless, you can use facts to prove anything that's remotely true! - Homer0 -
With your name the choice is a no brainer surely?0

+1 i reckon it looks the nicest as well, in my opinion of course, plus it has Tiagra shifters which would also sway it for me i think..........winter beast: http://i497.photobucket.com/albums/rr34 ... uff016.jpg

Fungus,
I've been looking at the 1.5, 2009 vs 2010. Although the headline news is the upgrade to Tiagra throughout, it seems they have downgraded the wheels and fork, and the price has gone up. I'm inclined to go for the current version to be honest, any thoughts?0 -
Scott,
The Scott S40 in my opinion looks really good .0 -

One of the reasons i bought the 1.5 was because whilst chatting to the the salesman at my lbs he told me that from the 1.5 -1.9 it was the same bike frame and forks but different components. plus the carbon forks were speed trap compatible giving me the option to use that if i wished ( which i will do at a later point). I had presumed the price had gone up due to it becoming all tiagra But with the more inferior wheels and fork i think that the 2009 is now a better bargain than I realised compared to the way 2010 bikes have increased. I tried a few bikes out and IMO it stood up best of all of them as well as being eye catchingly different. I also felt quite comfortable with the sora shifters and don't find them to be a problem at all. I would definately get out on one if you get chance before buying what ever bike you decide on.
Good luck with whichever you buyBianchi. There are no alternatives only compromises!

Fungus The Muffin Man,
That is by far the most original, creative forum name I have seen in the last 5 or 10 years. Good effort!0
