Shimano Cassette removal tool & Chain breaker?

Heya guys and girls
I went to the LBS yesterday to buy one Chain breaker £7.99 and one Shimano Cassette removal tool unfortunately they only had the Chain breaker in stock, from looking at the selection they had of these cassette removal tools I was also worried that if I brought one at another shop I might be buying the wrong one.
My question is, are all Shimano cassette's using the same size cassette tool?
Another one is my KMC chain I brought yesterday I mentioned at Oakley cycles in Northampton and showed them the parts I would be using to modify my bike:
-Triple Sora 8 speed crankshaft.
-Triple sora 8 speed levers.
-Triple Tiagra FD
I'm finding after fitting the chain, crank & FD that it's catching on the 'ramps?' of the crank cogs'binding?' I've not fully setup the bike as yet and still have to fit the rear cassette and levers the parts I have are all listed below.
-Triple Sora crankshaft.
-Triple Sora 8sp levers.
-KMC chain 8sp.(I assume, offered to me in Oakley cycles)
-A kindly borrowed(for now)Triple Tiagra FD.
-Shimano 8sp 11-32 rear cassette.
Could it be that I've not finished installing everything and that's the reason for the catching of the chain on the front cogs? or is it that I need a slimmer chain like the ones used on 9sp and 10sp bikes? it's a brand new chain but a secondhand triple sora crankshaft.
Honestly with the crank being secondhand I would have thought it would have been a bit worn in and therefore more play, but it really seems tight! Even though I've blasted the crank with a bit of WD-40.
-I'll go get some images of the chain where the ramps are and it's catching.
I have informed the chap in the shop I could be back by Monday and asking them to re-fit all the bits I've messed up, they've said you can't really go too wrong! But have offered to fit everything and configure it all for me at the sum of £15.
If anyone's got some advice for me I would be more then willing to listen
Kind regards,
MajorPayne

Shimano casettes regardless of where they fall in the pecking order of groupset use the same size lockring tool and these also fit Sram lockrings.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0

That's awesome, thanks for the kind reply to my post
What I'll do is pop to another LBS today and see if I can get either the Shimano or SRAM type of cassette tool so that I can fit the 11-32 cassette to the bike and hopefully that might solve a few things
I've also just come across some information which is informing me that if I replace my shifting levers I will most likely have to re-tape the bars themselves too..
-Which is something I did not have on the to-do list to be honest
If I do have to re-tape what I think I'll do is re-tape over the existing tape and this might give me a bit more hand cushioning along the way
Thanks for the reply redvee,
