Handlebars with single cable grooves ..............

Up until now my handlebars have always had two cable grooves, one to the front and one at the back, so for Campag Ergos, cable routing was fairly obvious (to me anyway).

However my new bars (3T Ergosum Team) only have a single groove underneath the bars. Again with Campag Ergos, brake cable routing is straighforward - out of the lever, along and under the front of the bars .

However, not sure what to do about the gear cable. Run alongside the brake cable, on the front and then under? Or around the outside, to the back and then under?

This all might seem a bit trivial to some, but with my near OCD, such things are important to me.

Suggestions, comments please.

Well why don't you try both options and see which one feels best. Looks is not as important as comfort.

it;s a pain in the arse - my cinelli neo-morphe require them both to go across the front too - i hated it (although I have got used to it now)

The plastic bit of the ergo should have an "alternate" cable route so you can take both cables across the front - i'd go that way and work hard to get it as smooth as possible and even then you might find a little bit of cable is "feel-able" through the bar tape!

    good luck!

Not so obvious to me. I routed both Campagnolo Centaur cables along the groove in the front and ignored the rear. Once the bar tape is on it's fine.
