Damages tyres?
Hi.
As I was cleaning I notice that on the side walls copper like thread started showing through, maybe it's the other side of the sponge rubbing on it when I am cleaning the rims? Also on the rear it looks like it's abit worn too.
There is still plenty of tread on them, are these tyres still safe to use?
Thanks
Will

Michelin Krylion Carbon.
Probably got about 2000-3000 miles on them, awesome tyres though I've never had a puncture at all on them.0 -
I have had tyres that look like this, used them without problem.
But while I'm here, I have a bone to pick with you about your poor attention to detail when cleaning your bike, very sloppy!0 -
No no that's on the camera lens I swear!!!0

The carcass often goes like that due to braking forces and under inflation can also do it.
I'd still ride them though0 -
It's ok then.
I've been using the rough side of the sponge to clean the rims it slightly catches the side wall.
Or if it's not that, I was using this rag to clean the tyres, it was just dry, but it's had all sorts on it, degreaser, tf2, dry lube, wd40, you name it, that rag has been used for everything you can think of.0
