Ah yes the bi weekly Ribble panning thread, I must say you've upped the ante with the unfounded conjecture this time.
For what it's worth I've only had excellent service from Ribble including a couple of returns.0 -

cue lawyers sharpening their pencils.............. :shock:0

never had a problem with them- the only item that broke, they replaced quicky and without any quibble'dont forget lads, one evertonian is worth twenty kopites'0
-
Always been fine with me. Only ever needed to contact them once on the phone and they were very helpful0
-
Been using them for a number of yeras and only had fast delivery of everytihng.
Had to return some stuff that didn't fit and got replacements back within days.
Sorry you have had trouble, but I must have used them 20 times with no problem and would recommend them.0 -
You might want to think aboutretracting some of this - the "never" stuff for instance - it's not true and it's libellous.
You may well have been badly treated by Ribble (and of course you're not the only one), but don't make it worse for yourself!0 -
Actually reading the complaint, not sure that it is correct.
If the goods were fit for purpose and worked ok for 3 months before 'the spring broke', then i think it would be a warranty issue for the manufacturer, rather than the retailer.0 -
I've had excellent service from them when ordering parts and the best prices by far. I've also had loads of replies to emails - sometimes within seconds. Spoke to them many times on the phone without a problem. Plenty of warnings from them to explain how long waiting lists are.
They are obviously very busy at the mo' with some very popular bikes, it's a shame people can't appreciate this.0 -

The remedy is always with the seller. Warranties are additional (or more often inferior) to your statutory rights. The seller has the contract with the buyer. The buyer has no contract with the manufacturer. The seller has to provide the remedy to the buyer, if the seller seeks to get recompense from the manufacturer that is their choice (but their duty to deal with the buyer is not dependent on this). The law currently places the onus on the seller to prove that the fault did not exist at time of purchase, the buyer does not have to prove this. Furthermore there is an expectation that goods will last a certain time after purchase, how long will depend upon the type of item so this cannot be predicted. There is now a right to claim for losses due to goods for up to 6 years in the EU.
As soon as a buyer starts to deal with the manufacturer rather than the seller they are effectively giving away their superior statutory rights.0 -
To put this thread into context and to allow it to make a bit more sense, Bryan F was a bit of a bell end and went off one about Ribble and some very amusing if almost certainly un ture conjecture in it. Having been told that he might just be overreacting and generalising, and assuming "My First Dictionary" has a definition of libel in it, he appears to have deleted all of his posts which might make the rest of the thread seem out of place.0

Wondered where the thread title had gone (and the posts)- pleased with my Frame and forks - no after sales "service" involved as such but the product has been excellent for the price.
