and even if it is, it may be useful to post it again for the unaware:


Copied from another user on Facebook, but as far as I can see, this is genuine:

Facebook has agreed to let third party advertisers use your posted pictures in their ads.

Click on SETTINGS up at the top where you see the log out link.
Select PRIVACY - MANAGE.
Select NEWS FEEDS AND WALL.
Select the tab that reads FACE BOOK ADS.
There is a drop down box, select NO ONE (it defaults to My Friends Only)

Save.

    Nice heads up, Mrs Witch. I've had to join that place in the last few days to keep in contact with an American friend of mine (now moved to deepest darkest Montana never to be seen again) I was going to upload a few shots of my ugly mug for her - I'd have done my censored too but somehow I don't think she'd appreciate that so much. :lol:

    Its not really true.

    Your pic can show up in an ad on one of your freinds facebook pages but not on radom peoples.All thrid party developers have to adhere to the privacy rules.

    having said that I wouldn't put anything on facebook that you wouldn't mind the entire world seeing just to be on the safe side. Plenty of people have lost jobs because someone has reported them for doing something daft. Teachers are a good target by internet savy kids who've brought in to school photos of a teacher drunk because the daft sod didn't have his/her privacy settings set up or they've accepted pupils as freinds.
