  • You have to turn the bike 90 degrees . . not upside down!
  • Anyone actually used these?
  • d'oh . . I may be wrong . . yopu may have to fully invert the bike (ignore my earlier comment)

    I think you are right

Why are MTB economics; spend twice as much as you intended, but only half as much as you wish you could afford?

OK I have finally sussed this out.

I had the bike upside down with handlebars & saddle on the floor.

I wiggled the QR lever VERY gently backwards & forwards & it released! I was pulling the QR normally & then harder & getting nowhere.

However, this was not what I needed earlier out on a trek-I had to come home because of it. ALso the seatpost slid down which is not good.

SO overall I am not impressed with these Zefal things

it says right on the page "Patent concept : in the horizontal position, the quick release lever is automatically locked, to unlock the bike has to be lifted-up to the vertical position. A special washer makes the unscrewing impossible even with a tool.

Well I have had this problem again. The skewers seem to have a mind of their own.

My seatpost was slipping down again today when I went on a ride. OK no problem, Ill undo the QR but no, it's jammed locked again even with the bike upside down.

I ended the ride early & went home & tried to undo the QR lever with the bike upside down on a table & still no joy.

I e-mailed Zefal about this when it happened first time & they did not reply.

    SO my point is:

DO NOT BUY ZEFAL ANTI THEFT QUICK RELEASES!

I think I will have to borrow an angle grinder & cut the shaft somehow :?

I am not sure what else I can do to warn people about how shit these things are :(
