Cycle Republic....?

Whilst up in my local city today I thought I'd pop into Cycle Republic to see if there was anything of interest.
Now, I remember it was only a few months ago (beginning of the recession!) that these stores opened, and I remember being told that it was the 'new' arm of Halfords, trying to sherk their poor name.
So, I was surprised today, as I turned the corner to see the shop had been rebadged with a massive 'Halfords' sign!!!
As Cycle Republic the shop had always been quite busy, now they've renamed it Halfords it's dead!!!
Not Halfords best idea, must have been a huge needless expense too, changing all the signage.
Has anyone else noticed a change in these shops, now that they've come out of the closet?

Halfords have ditched the Bikehut and Cycle Republic branded shops as they were poor performing compared to their online and superstore outlets.Specialized Venge S Works
Cannondale Synapse
Enigma Etape
Genesis Flyer Single Speed
Turn the corner, rub my eyes and hope the world will last...0 -
