Hey guys,

Got myself a new bike and i'm going to be cycling to work mainly on the road but then going to be doing alot of cross country stuff to.

I've been recommended the Mass Crossmark so was wondering if theres anything else you guys can recommend?

Cheers

Jake

I'd say get two sets of tyres if you do road during the week and off-road at weekend. One set of slicks for commuting and road and a set of non slicks for off road.

That said, I use Conti Traffic 09s for road and mid level off-road riding, when I can't be bothered swapping tyres sets over. Cheap, indestructible, roll really well on road and grip in wet or dry. Reasonable off-road if you don't take the p!ss.

I've been commuting on my mtb for the last couple of days because I'm too slack to fix my commuter... It's got Kenda Small Block 8s fitted now, which are excellent on most off road conditions (except mud!) and it turns out, they're quite good on tarmac as well- not as fast as a slick obviously but still rapid, even with 30psi in. They have lots of small knobs so instead of rolling like a cog, the spread means it's a fairly constant edge.
