I've got the front one sorted, and most of the rear stripped but am damned if i can get the bearings out of the rear freehub body or the main hub body itself!!

Pull body off. tap axle out remove bearings refit and done.

more gentle tapping with a drift and a hammer by the sounds of it.

Oh soft faced mallet to get the axle out.

    and if you missed it

ah great... the PDF is spot on. I've got the one which gives the exploded via but the other 2 sheets with the extra info on are great.

Also, how much and where best to order the tools mentioned to do this proceedure correctly?? I contacted hope directly via email and was told my local bike store but my local stores a more family orientated and wouldn't even take my hope M4's in for a bleed so i wouldn't expect much from them if asked.

Got football in half hour so not get chance to try it tonight but i'll read it thought and give it another go tomorrow :)

Hardware/tool shop should have a drift and soft faced hammer.

When you are reftting the bearings, put them in the freezer first for about an hour. Makes them much easier to fit.

Well the drift and hammer i have :)

Its the bearing sized supports and fitting tool i don't have. Was thinking of giving an engineer mate an old bearing and asking him to make a gollowed out tool for fitting and support - but it depends on the cost of the tools, if they ain't too much i'll just buy them.

do you have a socket set?

    you are getting there,

removing bearings to replace them is easy.to reuse them takes more care.

after fitting if there is any binding something is not fully seated. so hit MORE untill ok.

I've got a local bearing place which stocks most of the common sizes... i got my DMR Chieftain replacement bearings there lasttime for £2 each so i'll replace each time rather then reuse given the cost.

I presume there are kind of built in stops within the hub so the bearing seats where it should be??

it is hard to get wrong.

don't forget it was made by people in Lancashire.

Well front is all sorted... cheers for the top freeze trick. First one was a pain to get in all the way so did the 2nd bearing after 45min in the freezer - worked a treat!! Only too one hammer tap to take it all the way!!

Gonna give the rear a go this weekend if i get the time.

    Cheers for the advice all
