I went out for a ride yesterday, the steering felt odd like it was lagging behind my turn and then pulling when i turned again. I assume there must be something loose between the handle bars and the wheel.

So I tightened the two allen bolts that wrap around the top of the front post, they seemed pretty tight as it was so I had a look at tightening the bolt IN the top of the front post.

After a bit of tightning I heard something snap... this little black button shaped bit of my bike which says "INSIDE CARTRIDGE SYSTEM".. Oops.

I'm going to take it somewhere today to get it fixed.. and get them to look at my squealy front disc brake too.

Anyone know what's going to need replacing? and how much it's going to cost me?

Thanks, Dan

think youve managed to snap your top cap, hopefully for you you may not have damaged your headset but you might have, the bolt in your top cap is there to take the play out of your headset bearings and shouldnt be over tightened but seeing as you tightened the stem up first i dont think you will have damaged the bearings.
    who cares?

Thanks, in a couple of hours I'm going to pop over to a bike shop for them to have a look... but unfortunately everywhere seems booked up till early august for repairs! So I'm hoping it's something I can do :)
