Hi, I have a problem with my rear mech on my '08 Rockhopper Disc. I got a LX rear mech that whenever I am on the largest sprocket, the top pulley of my derailliuer bounces against the sprocket. I have tried adjusting the B screw which I have screwed all the way in and it still happens. I assume the chain is the correct length as it is still the original one (though not worn much). The gear shifting is fine, just the noisey rattling from the contact. The rear mech cage seems to be straight too. Any help greatfully received as it is sending me potty ;)

Yeah, but it didnt seem to do much other than mess up the shifting! Is cable tension a factor?

you only need to adjust the cable like a mm i found that out today it only needs the tiniest adjustment.I kept on playing untill it was right a bit fiddly but it's spot on now.

Have you recently put on a new cassette, or new derailleur?

    Pics would be better, really!

No, original cassette, I have probably only done a couple hundred miles or so from new. The only thing I have changed was the front mech for an xt. I will try cable tension adjustment in the morning, thanks for help!

Solved rear mech problem by turning b-screw upside down. The extra mil or so must have been enough! Thanks for all replies
