Second MTB.........

So i am 15, and bought a Land Rover Tahora '07 a couple of years ago, which was a great ride to get me started, and it's been well used over the last couple of years, mainly off road, but some on road. Anyway i am basically looking for a new MTB within the £400-£600 range, as i have both grown out of my Landy, and reached it's limits (did that a while ago actually ). So i will be using it for trails and general off road riding. I will also say that 80% of the bikes use will be off-road. Please also bear in mind that i am going to start to do some races soon, and see how it goes.
So i'd love to hear some reccomendations, and me being a little short on cash, preferably the best value for money is appreaciated. I have listed some possibility's below, of what i have found so far.
Focus Black Forest '09 (tempting to spend that bit more)
Specialized Rockhopper Disc '09
Focus Fat Boy' 09
Merlin Malt 1 '09
GT Avalanche 1.0
Cube Attention '09 (Iffy forks...??)
Those are just some which seemed to look good around my price range. So i would love some opinions and any other reccomendations.
Cheers

how about a kona you can pick up some good bargins in 400-600 pound range if you shop about and dont mind an 07/08 spec bike worth looking at0

Aren't the specs of konas a lil bit poo though? For the money i mean?
I'd be tempted by the malt or rockhopper"If i was a slug i don't think i could handle it, i'd just throw myself in the salt pot" -Karl pilkington
Whyte 46, i fall off it alot!!0 -
Thanks for your input guys, but from what i can see the Kona's are a little undersp'd compared to the other choices. Although i will say, i don't mind an '08 bike, if it will save me money.0
