I was thinking of getting an old Raleigh Dyna-tech 625 bonded titanium frame, does anyone know what the differences are between something like that and a modern one? (apart from the cost!!)
I guess the joining technology will be different but what about the ride and feel? anyone owned both new and old?
thanks

I think I have read that the bonding fails on these bikes (modern ones are welded. Welding Ti is tricky and costly, hence the bonding). I also think I have read that the Ti is just the main triangle. I have a modern Ti bike, never had a Dyna-Tech. The ride is great, but frame design will make a lot of difference to how any particular Ti bike rides. Personally I wouldn't bother unless it was a silly low price (sub £100) as I wouldn't expect longevity, which is one of the supposed advantages of Ti. A colleague at work had one and the frame came apart, albeit after many years and miles.
