Just wondering what sort of lubricant I should use on my transmission?

At the moment im just using 3 in 1 but its horrible stuff, it makes the parts black and generally picks up dirt like no bodies business.

Yeah, 3 in 1 is bad stuff.

Try Finish Line wet lube: the key is precise and minimal application.

I suppose some lube is better than no lube. (That sounds wrong!), do Halfords sell anything like this? I'll pick some up after work.

I use teflon lube. got it from Halfords. in a black bottle, cost about a fiver. seems to work well. Doesnt attract as much muck as 3 in 1, and its clear in colour, so doesnt stain stuff.
    Smells good too lol

never really got on with teflon lube myself, finish line cross country found to be great in bad conditions... + 1 for little precise application.

I always meticulously clean chain and apply small dot of lube to each chain link… silky smooth action…
