My first post so please be gentle!
I have a Scott Genius 30 and the rear shock has a knocking noise when going over rough ground. It is quiet when locked out but rattles in traction or fully open mode. It is working fine but is a bit irritating when I'm without my iPod!
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

does it rattle when removed from the bike and shaken?

Hi, thanks for responding. I haven't taken it off yet so I don't know. What is there inside that could rattle?

well if it inside then it needs a service.

if it does not then there is a good chance the fitting kit and/or DU bushes need looking at.

or it is a lose cable hitting something.

Thanks I'll take it off and give it a shake. It's definitely from the shock area - I've isolated all the cables etc.
