Hi
Looking to change from triple to compact on my 2002 Giant OCR.
1. Is there one tool which does both the square taper BB and the cassette lock ring?
2. Will it be an English or Italian BB?

Yes the Campag cassette tool also does the bottom bracket but not all tools are open enough.
I bought a genuine Campag tool which is top quality and a sure fire fit.
I would guess at Giant being english thread0 -
It depends which Campag square taper BB you get. Below Centaur level, the tool has 6 pegs that fit into the BB flanges and it is not the same as the cassette tool. Don't know about the tools needed at Centaur and above level but the Campag square BBs can be difficult to find these days (although Ribble still has some) because Campag have switched to UT for all road cranks apart from the triples.0

This will teach me to look before I ask...the current BB has 20 teeth around the outside which leads me to suspect it is an ISIS type BB (for which I already have a tool). How does that sound?Half man, Half bike0

IIRC FSA is JIS and Campag is ISO.0 -
Park tool do one which is BBT-5 for both bottom brackets and locknuts for cassettes.0

Parkers International are selling the Park BBT-4 for £7.25Tool for removing and fitting 6 notch cups on sealed Bottom Brackets. Fits cartridge cups used on Sachs and Campagnolo Veloce, Mirage, and Avanti.0

But the BBT-5 does, see my previous mail.0

Yes indeed, but all locknuts, so your point is ........ ?0

Campags own tools. For centaur/veloce/mirage/xenon BBs you need one of these, . For Record and Chorus BBs and all cassettes you need one of these, . Italian and English make no difference the difference is the threading Italian both cups are right hand thread, English one left one right handed. When you get your new BB make sure it is ISO not JIS as the tapers are different.Neil

The Centaur Superlight BB takes the Record/Chorus tool. Your Giant should be English it will have 1.37x24 on the cups Italian has 36x24. Campag square taper still available although 111mm a bit thin on the ground at the moment.Neil

For Centaur BB second tool is correct, just like for Chorus and Record.
I have one as below and it is Centaur BB.
