Sorry if this has been asked before..
When ever i hit a jump my fork always seems to bottom out, does this mean i need to get it serviced or just new springs?
It is worth to note that the fork is about 2 years old and hasn't been serviced at all.
Hmm sounds like i am going to have to service it..:/
Anyway if it is just the springs to make them harder is there any type of tutorials or step by step guides on how to do this. Im a bit strapped for cash so the cheapest method would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks, dave.

Have they always done this, or is this a new problem?
Sounds like you a new spring, there is a tutorial on the TF tuned webby. Although getting them serviced would be no bad thing...

Its a new problem which started just yestersday.
I think i'll get it serviced as well,
Thanks for the reply.Part of the Left-handed CommunityTM0 -
if it is a new problem then it will not be the springs getting softer, that just does not happen (unless it is air, which it should not be in this case).
so either you have broken of blown something.

thing is though I looked at my springs yesrerday and couldnt find anything wrong with them.
But I'll get it serviced, how much do you think i will be?Part of the Left-handed CommunityTM0 -
Download the service manual off Sram's website and do it yourself. It's a piece of piddle and you don't need any special tools either.
That said if there's something broken you may miss it if you don't know what you're looking for. If it's bottoming out it may be just that the damping oil needs replacing, but it could be that part of the damping mechanism isn't functioning correctly.
Check out TF Tuned or Stendec for servicing and tuning.0 -
Okay, you say its a piece of piddle..but how would i actually go about do it?
Sorry, I'm a complete novice if you hadnt realised.Part of the Left-handed CommunityTM0 -
download the service manual and read it.
collect the tools that it says you need. buy the oils that you need.
get started or send it away if you decide it is not your thing to do."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

I do appreciate this guys, but where does it say what i need to do and what tools i need?
I might be blind. Sorry.
Also I'm stuck on what oil i need to use.
Ive found this one http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... delID=3047
Would that work?
Whats all this talk about oil weight being 5 then 15?
Sorry again, I do appreciate it.Part of the Left-handed CommunityTM0 -

Thanks, I think I'll book it in to LBS as it seems pretty complicated to me and also Im not completely sure on what I would have to do..
How much do you reckon a full fork service would cost, expecting I would need new springs and bushings?
Cheers guys.Part of the Left-handed CommunityTM0 -
why would it need a new spring?
springs dont go soft. OK if you have broken it.
Look on any of the service company sites."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
