I am looking to replace my bb, it has lasted over a year so am relatively happy with it.

What are the difference between these two? Is it just that the XT/SLX M770 is lighter or are there any other differences?

Shimano XT M770

Shimano Deore

Is there anything else I should be considering?

Don't want you to feel like im stealing your thread but i was i hoping i could add an extra question onto this. I've had my bike over a year now - does mine need replacing?

    No worries.

Is there anything wrong with it? Can you feel any play in the crank arms? Can you hear a clicking/knocking noise when you pedal?

If not then you don't need to replace it, the only reason I am going to is because of the above faults.

Ok, the XT version will be slightly lighter as you say, and have better seals on the bearings. That's about it!

Oh, and is a different colour!! (Main difference!! )

not just the colour the metal is of slightly higher quality not as soft so less likely to damage it when using tools to put it in
