Apologies if anyone has ever moaned about this before, but does anyone else find Sky Sports News a pain to watch at times.

Now don’t get me wrong I love footy as much as the next person and when the results are ticking along on a Saturday the coverage is great; but do I care about an article where by they tell you about the knock that 'so and so' footballer got in the summer friendly, that was maybe keeping him out of the next summer friendly game but isn’t now... NO!!!

It's at times like that I wish they would put some proper sports news on instead of time fillers and a bit more varied and outside of the 'big' sports that they trade in, as the amount of interesting sports news they do not do justice to is criminal.

Also in regard to the old adage of if you don’t like it don’t watch it, you'd be right there and normally outside of score hunting I don’t, but once in a while I forget how pony it can be on occasions and I turn it on hoping to get some interesting and varied sports news for 15 minutes (as the name of the channel suggests) only to be confronted by the most inane articles.

Sorry about that, moan over and I guess its stick to Europsort News eh :D

It is more like Sky Mass Viewing Sports News....... nothing on things involving pedal power which is annoying when as a country we have some of the best cyclists around in all disciplines (the Athertons, Steve Peat, Jamie Bestwick, Mark Cavendish et al). Not very much for fans of teams lower down the scale when it comes to football or rugby either.

It would be nice to see them do features on minor sports or amateur sports at this time of year rather than constantly telling us whether a Premiership footballer has had his ready brek that morning
  • I expect cycling coverage to increase once their Sky cycling team is up and running.

The main problem with sky sports news is that ridiculously dramatic theme tune that turns up every 3 minutes.
Note: the above post is an opinion and not fact. It might be a lie.

It's certainly not a pain to watch when Georgie Thompson is presenting. Apparently she likes her road bikes too. Dreamweaver.

    She has lovely teeth.

Natalie Sawyer  . SSN goes on when I get in from Work to get the football gossip then again if Im finding it difficult to fall asleep at Night and thats pretty much it.
  • At least you have it to watch. You wanna try watching the amateurism on Setanta Sport News. It's almost laughable. I go to bed dreaming of having SSN

I thought SSN was available on freeview too? My GF has it, thankfully.

For me the problem with Sky Sports News is that they only tend to give news about events they cover. It is as though everything else doesn't exist. It should also really be labelled Sky Sports Football News.

It is of course the only thing thats worth watching during the last few hours of the Transfer Windows :P

Actually what really does me in is the tabs at the bottom. You see one with Cycling written on it, so you wait for it but you get distracted by lovely Natalie Sawyer  and when you look back down its long since gone :x

edit; Usually it just says that Cav won again anyway 8)
  • What i hate is the fact that something football related gets a 3 page spread, and the TDF (the physically hardest sporting event) gets a tiny little box on one of the pages, this was last years TDF and it got a tiny little box and there was a three page spread over what one football team manager said to another!, it's not just sky it's all of the tabloids/news channels.

Love SSN but no doubt it could do with less football and much more other sports, like someone said, too much focus on the events they are covering. I really am fed up of Ronaldo story now

lets hope sky never get their grubby hands on the giro or tdf- they would no doubt ruin it like they have done with football
